Painted Chest of Drawers by Lebus and Wardrobe Set in Farrow and Ball Off Black

A 1940's CC41* Oak Veneered Gentleman's armoire paired with aMid Century Vintage Oak Veneered Chest of Drawers by the ever popular Lebus to make a bedroom set. The Wardrobe has a full length hanging rail and dates from the 1940's post war period, with original brass handle which I have cleaned and polished by hand. It is well proportioned and is in very good order, with lock and key working. The CC41 'Two Cheeses' Utility Furniture Stamp which dates post war furniture can be found on the reverse of the wardrobe, along with the original manufacturers label. The chest of drawers has a nice simple style, showing a Scandinavian influence. The drawers are fitted with the stunning original brass drawer pull handles which I have cleaned and polished by hand, with the top drawer having the Lebus badge inside. Both pieces have been carefully sanded, restored and hand painted externally in Farrow and Ball's timeless and dramatic 'Off Black' Modern Eggshell. The set would make a fabulous storage addition to a bedroom or landing and both pieces are lovely and light, making them easy to transport upstairs.

*CC41 was the Utility Fashion and Furniture brand for strong well-designed furniture manufactured in the UK during the period 1941-1951 post World War II following a furniture shortage due to bombing, and pieces from this period are considered collectables.

Condition:

The set is in very good condition and there is no major damage to note apart from the customary age related minor knocks, dents and cracks which are to be expected with antique and vintage pieces. Both pieces are in a lovely clean condition having been fully cleaned inside.
