Painted 1940's CC41 Linen Cupboard/Tall Boy in Farrow and Ball Sulking Room Pink

A stunning antique vintage CC41* painted oak veneered linen cupboard / tallboy dating from 1940's with beautiful carved doors and the original decorative handles which I have cleaned and polished by hand. The CC41 stamp can be seen on the reverse. The cabinet has been carefully sanded, restored and painted externally in Farrow and Ball's romantic and muted ‘Sulking Room Pink' Modern Eggshell and internally I have lined the base with a silver grey damask patterned paper. It would be a fabulous addition to a bedroom or landing as a linen cupboard, but equally could be used as a drinks cabinet.
 
The CC41 'Two Cheeses' Utility Furniture Stamp which dates post war furniture can be found on the reverse of the wardrobe, along with the original manufacturers label.
 
*CC41 was the Utility Fashion and Furniture brand for strong well-designed furniture manufactured in the UK during the period 1941-1951 post World War II following a furniture shortage due to bombing, and pieces from this period are considered collectables.

This piece is in excellent condition with no damage to note apart from the minor nicks, dents and previous repairs which are to be expected with vintage and antique pieces and adds to their character. The drawers and doors open and close with ease and it is a clean and tidy piece. In terms of the finish I don't just slap on a coat of chalk paint on my pieces and call them upcycled - each of my pieces undergoes a lengthy process of restoration and preparation before being painstakingly stripped, cleaned, restored, woodworm treated if there is any sign of historic woodworm, primed and undercoated before painting a minimum of 4 coats to ensure a high quality finish.
